A Binocular Harness Review –Comparing The Standard Style And The New Innovation
Choosing the right binocular harness just became a little more difficult. Recently it went from one standard style which fit all binoculars to the addition of a second style with more features. Let us take a look at both designs to help you decide what is best for you.
The standard design, the one which has been around for years, is worn over both shoulders. The crisscross pattern on your back is very effective at transferring the weight evenly and keeping you comfortable throughout the day. It is easily adjusted to fit most people.
This standard design has been recommended for years as being the most comfortable and cost effective harness on the market. It works with virtually every brand of binoculars and SLR cameras. It comes with an assortment of attachment rings and ties to allow easy securing of your gear. The attachments for Bushnell, Burris, Nikon, Leica, Fujinon , Minolta, and a wide variety of other cameras and binoculars are included.
With all of these features it is hard to imagine the need for a second model, but there were requests for a few more features.
The new model of binocular harness offers you the choice of wearing it over one shoulder or two shoulders. This added flexibility may be necessary if you are carrying other gear over your shoulders. The new strapping system is even more adjustable than the old one. It is nearly impossible to find a person this system will not work for. The materials are highly durable and weather resistant.
The new model of binocular harness covers a wide variety of manufacturers, too. This includes Alpen, Brunten, Steiner, Zeiss, plus all of the brands mentioned previously. It is unlikely you own a set of binoculars or an SLR camera which is not covered by the included attachment rings and ties.
How do you choose which system to order? The biggest difference found in the binocular harness review is in the option to wear your harness over one shoulder or two. If you plan to always wear it over two shoulders you can save a few dollars ordering the older system. If you want the option to wear it over two shoulders, or rotate between sides, then the new harness is your best choice. Either way both harnesses are extremely comfortable, safe, and durable. You will not make a wrong decision by choosing either one.
