What is better 10x50 or 12x50?
Hello,
10x50 have bigger exit pupil and are steadier, while 12x50 offers larger mag - the question is... is 12x50 worth the extra mag? What is your personal experience in observing the sky and mountains but mainly the mountains with similar binos and objective size but different mag? Does the eye really take advantage of the 5mm exit pupil size vs. 4.2?
And what do u think for Pentax PCF WP II Binoculars?
Thanks in advance
Go to an open observing night at your local amateur astronomy club. They ALWAYS have some binocs and you can learn TONS about them, maybe get to try a few.
I prefer the 10x 50 but even the 7x50 are pretty damn neat. Power doesn't mean a lot.... good optics, good Field of View (bigger is better) and good aperture is what I look for.
Sure, at higher mag you will be shaky, but you learn to make a "human tripod". Practice yoga. It really helps.
