Are these binoculars suitable for astronomy?
As i am interested in astronomy, I would like to purchase a pair of binoculars suitable for general viewing of the night sky, hoping to see planets in more detail, and possibly some of the brighter galaxies and clusters. I have seen these binoculars, but have no idea if they would be suitable. can anyone help? my budget is about £50 but can go a little higher is needs be.

I am not familiar with this particular brand, but according to the specifications, these should be quite suitable for Astronomy.
50mm Objective diameter is good for light gathering purposes and 10X magnification means it can still be hand held for short periods and gives a good magnification factor.
I would suggest however that you plan on getting some sort of mount for them. These Binos will be fairly heavy and they will be uncomfortable to hold still for long periods of time. And some of the objects you will want to observe with them are fairly complex so that you will want to spend some time studying them.
BTW, There are plenty of designs available on the net for Bino mounts particularly suited for Astronomy. One of the designs uses two common Crutches, quite ingenious!! If you are at all handy, this would be the way to go. Common Tripods do not work very well for Astronomy and you'll get a sore neck soon.
There are commercial mounts available, but they cost far more than your Binos.
Binos like this are ideal for observing large deep space objects that are too big to fit into a Telescope's narrow field of view. Open Star clusters, The Andromeda Galaxy, the great Nebula in Orion are all examples of targets well suited for Binos such as these. There are also some books written specifically for the Bino Observer with all kinds of lists of objects suited for this instrument.
