Why do I sometimes see a tiny, red light in the sky moving at a fairly fast pace?
Sometimes when im stargazing outside with my telescope, with my bare eye i will spot this red, blinking light just passing on buy. It looks like it is VERY high up since it is so small. It is only one red, blinking light, so It couldnt be a plane since planes have 2 wings. Im thinking a sattelite. One time I managed to grab my binoculars before it dissapeared (they multiply magnification by 12x). I looked at it through them and it looked exactly the same as with bare eye. Very weird anyone know?
With aircraft you usually see only one running light because of the way they are placed on the wingtips. But if it's coming directly at you both would probably show. Running lights are like boat lights, red on one side, green on the other. They don't usually flash.
An anti-collision strobe flashes, but they are white, not red.
