Frequently Asked Questions:
Why do you offer this service?
To give anyone (not just big business) the chance of sending a signal to deep
space and receiving a response.
Do you guarantee a response?
No unfortunately we cannot guarantee or monitor for any response to your
transmission.
How far out is Deep Space?
Potentially this can be outside our solar system, and beyond any current
space exploration.
Is there a limit to how many messages I can send?
Currently no, however we do limit each individual transmission:
Text = Less than 100,000 characters (in RAW text
format)
Video = Less than 5 MEG file (in mov, wmv, VHS, or DVD
USA Region format)
Sound = Less than 5 MEG file (in mp3, aac, or wma
format)
Picture = Less than 5 MEG file (in png, jpeg, gif, bmp,
or tif format)
We can obviously make exceptions, so contact us.
Can I send anything I want?
Unfortunately no, we cannot allow copyrighted,
prejudice, or obscene material. All material is reviewed before being
transmitted. If material is deemed to be unfit for transmission, we will refund
your money minus a $50 administrative fee.
Do you transmit in any weather?
We can, however we prefer transmitting during clear-sky conditions to reduce
scintillation
Will I receive a confirmation?
Yes, we send all customers information via e-mail in PDF format including:
Time of Start of Transmission
Frequency Used at Ku Band (Typically between 14-14.5 GHZ)
Azimuth Setting Used
Elevation Setting Used
Polarization Setting Used
Time of End of Transmission
Spectrum Analyzer print out of any signal received at
current settings.
How experienced are you?
Most of our engineers have over 29 years experience in electrical
engineering, more specifically satellite testing in orbit and development of
earth stations.
I heard anyone with a HAM setup can do this, is that
true?
Yes it's true that many people can send a signal to space, however it's
questionable if they can send a signal to "Deep Space" and with a strong enough
signal to reach many solar systems away.
What makes you different from the rest?
There isn't much of a market for Deep Space transmission (at least for the
general public) however our Earth Station stands out from the rest on three
levels:
Experience: Our staff has combined experience
that rivals even the most experienced Electrical Engineers
Equipment: Our 4.6 meter antenna has a gain of
65dbi along with 2 HPAs reaching 700 WATTS output each. Thus we have a max
output of 90dbw or 1,000,000,000 WATTS
Uniqueness: We provide spectrum analyzer print
outs along with personal certificates which no one else provides.
How do I contact you?
Our contact information is located at the bottom of every page. We prefer
e-mail correspondence.
